Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has apologised for his Commonwealth Games anthem, Jiyo Utho Badho Jeeto, being a disappointment.
“The anthem was tested on the younger generation, and not all ages. We tested it on a lot of nationalities, but people did not like it,” Rahman told a news channel.
“It is difficult to satisfy every one, but I did try my best and I am sorry to have let anybody down."
The composer received a lot of flak for the song from all sections. The Organising Committee also said that it "fell short of expectations". Rahman had to tweak the song at the last moment on public demand.
