The last time he won an international award was for Danny Boyle's film Slumdog Millionaire when he won an Academy award for the Best Original Score and he has done it again. Music composer AR Rahman has once again made history with Danny Boyle as he has managed to woo the critics into bestowing him with the 16th Critics Choice award for the Most Original Score.

The song If I Rise has some of the best put into it with Rahman's music and Dido's lyrics and voice, Rahman too has sung parts of the song. The song has a moving melody with a great deal of depth and soul in it.

Rahman's music has once again been nominated for the Golden Globe as well as the Academy awards for the soundtrack of 127 Hours. The composer recently declared that he would be on a sabbatical for the year 2011, although he will reportedly be composing the music for Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha's next film.

The other winners included the film The Social Network, which bagged several awards including Best Film, Colin Firth who was awarded Best Actor for the film The King's Speech and Natalie Portman who won Best Actress for her ballerina role in the film The Black Swan.
