Choir groups croon classic carols

To mark the spirit of Christmas, choir groups from across the city perform popular traditional carols at different venues.

To mark the spirit of Christmas, choir groups from across the city perform popular traditional carols at different venues. This Christmas, ring in the festivities with carols and choirs in the city. Popular choir groups, live bands and singers have come together to perform some of the classics at various destinations in the city.



Delhi Choir group

This group, which is almost three years old, has 35 members in total. The members describe them as an eclectic group of young and old musicians. "We have an entire carol ensemble that includes contemporary, traditional and some innovated carols," says David Lunis, the coordinator for the group. The choir has performed at various venues in the city and are known for their carols such as Santa Claus Is Coming, Felis Navidad, and Oh Come All Ye Faithful.

Lorraine Music Academy

This Gurgaon-based music academy will be performing live on Christmas eve with Lorraine Fiona. Known for their carols like Jingle Bells, Silent Night, The 12 Days of Christmas, and Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, the group will be performing as part of the Community Music Drive that brings together new bands and choral groups.

When: December 24, 7.30pm onwards



Covenant Keepers: Choir from the Church

This group is one of the oldest choirs in the city. Tracing their formation to about 30 years back, the group comprises of 25 young musicians, originally from the Green Park Church. The group feels that music is the key to connect with God. The group will sing some popular carols, along with hymns.

Aarushi from Salaam Balak Trust

Kids from this NGO will be performing Christmas carols at a fund raiser. "Also, a Christmas tree decorated by these children will be displayed at their venue of performance," says Tripti Someshwar of the Genesis Foundation organisation. They will perform songs like Jingle Bells and We Wish You A Merry Christmas.
