When I first met director Steven Spielberg and composer John Williams, they asked me to sing melodies, which John played on the piano. I did the best I could but John fell quiet after that. I was worried, thinking I had done something wrong but then realised he was crying! He said that he didn’t know I could sing like that. And then I started crying! (Laughs) It was pretty silly.
It was a wonderful challenge working with director James Cameron and composer James Horner for
, because I did a lot of things outside of my comfort zone. James once asked me to sing a song in a very happy and loud tone. I had never done that before, so as I finished, I started laughing. And then, everyone in the studio also started laughing hysterically! It was a lot of fun.
Passion of the Christ
Director Mel Gibson and composer John Debney asked me to sing in Aramaic (language). Since I knew it, Mel asked me to teach the choir. He stood by me, and later said it was good. It felt great!
