Highlight Story

Amy Winehouse started off her career riddled with irony! Her single Rehab was a chartbuster and Amy Winehouse was being touted as the modern day Janis Joplin. Robust vocals and great looks, Amy was the toast of the music industry. But soon, her words caught on to her-I don't ever wanna drink again, I just, ooh, I just need a friend. Amy swindled her career for alcohol addiction and today, it has reached a point where her fans don't want her anymore.

During a recent concert in Belgrade, the troubled singer was booed off stage after she staggered onto the stage late, threw one of shoes into the crowd, slurred her words and stopped incessantly while trying to remember the lyrics to her songs.

Amy conceded that her show was not at par and refused to take any payment for the same so that the angry fans could get their ticket money back.

Subsequently, her concerts in Turkey and Greece have been called off and she will not appear on stage "for years."

Her manager, Raye Cosbert has ordered the star to take some time off to address her personal problems and addictions.

Amy WinehouseA source close to Amy told Contactmusic, "It has been hard for Ray to watch her get into trouble over the years. There's only so much he can do - but enough's enough. She's going away and this time it could be for years."

Winehouse has long struggled with substance abuse and checked into rehab again last month in a bid to overcome her issues.
