If you ever danced in front of the mirror to pop star Fergie’s hits, you have a chance to let her hear you sing. Thanks to an online global singing competition, the Black Eyed Peas lead singer and Grammy award winning pop vocalist Natasha Bedingfield, among others will be judging amateur singers, who have a chance to be trained professionally and record video performances.
Cosmetics company Avon has launched the year-long program to celebrate its 125th year and the other judges include songwriter Diane Warren, Filpina singer Lea Salonga and Australian singer Delta Goodrem, nominated as singer of the decade in her home country.
Two winners of the programme will get a chance to record a professionally produced album. “We are thrilled to now give women the opportunity to share their voices, songs and stories through this global talent search,” said Andrea Jung, CEO and Chairman of Avon Products, Inc.
Speaking on her collaboration, Fergie said, “I’m so fortunate to be living my dreams through music. I know so many women dream of having their voices heard – now they can.”
Women are invited to participate in the online search by choosing a song from the website and uploading a submission video till February 13, 2011 at
. Anyone can vote for their favorite contenders to help decide the outcome.
Voting begins April 22, 2011.
