From Ed Sheeran and Jason Derulo to Clean Bandit and Martin Garrix, a host of popular acts are expected to hold their own shows in India, and also perform at music festivals such as Sunburn and Time Out 72.

India is fast becoming the top destination for popular international acts. Coldplay held their maiden gig in India last year. Justin Bieber’s Mumbai concert earlier this year had huge hoopla around it. Now, in the last three months of 2017, at least eight international acts are expected to have their own shows in India or perform at various music festivals.

A host of international acts, including Dream Theatre and Jason Derulo, will perform in India for the very first time.

Then, popular American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo and EDM (electronic dance music) bigwig Martin Garrix will headline the upcoming music festival, Time Out 72 (December 27-29), at Vagator, Goa. “I have heard phenomenal stories about India and I’m extremely excited to be performing [in India]. I’m definitely looking forward to exploring the country on this visit as well as meeting all my fans, up close and personal, this December,” an excited Deurlo, famous for the song Wiggle (featuring Snoop Dogg), had told us earlier.

Dutch trance king Armin Van Buuren will perform at Aamby Valley City in Lonavala, Maharashtra, as part of the two-day music festival, Enchanted Valley Carnival (December 16-17).

American music producer Kshmr is coming down to India for a five-city tour, starting in Delhi on October 20 and culminating in Mumbai on October 29. “Words can’t express how excited I’m to be returning to India. I’ve made some special remixes of Indian songs to play alongside my own,” he had told us.

French music producer DJ Snake is flying to India for the third time to be a part of the Sunburn music festival (December 28-31). The four-day music festival will also host British electronic act, Clean Bandit, makers of the popular song Rockabye, for the very first time. “We’re still finalising a few details, but yes, Clean Bandit will be flying to India for their first performance. They are excited about it,” a source close the group had confirmed earlier.

The highlight of all the crowd-pleasing visits will be that of English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. The Shape of You singer will perform in Mumbai on November 19. This is the Grammy-winning singer’s second performance in India; his maiden concert took place in Mumbai in 2015.
