Here’s a look at what went into the making of a super tune:

Composer: Amit Trivedi
Singer: Sowmya Raoh
Lyricist: Amitabh Bhattacharya

Dreamum Wakepum climbed the popularity charts with its catchy melody and quirky lyrics. The video, featuring Rani Mukerji and and Prithiviraj prancing around in a kitschy ’80s-inspired film set, got the song all the attention too. sowmya raoh shares her exprience:

Over-the-top music:
“Amit’s brief to me was that he wanted a south Indian flavour to the song. He also told me not be subtle and have complete fun while singing it. Everything was going to be over-the-top, he’d said. And I stuck to it. ”

Team effort:
“If Amitabh hadn’t written those lyrics, the song wouldn’t have been such a hit. And Amit brought in a certain wackiness to the music. Plus, Rani is looking so great in the video that you cannot take your eyes off her.” Get the story behind your favourite Bollywood song featured here.
