Highlight Story

Even before we could realise it, the first half of 2012 has whizzed by. Like each year, this one too has seen its share of chartbusters. Here’s a snap shot:

Chikni Chameli (Agneepath)
The year started with a bang with the item number Chikni Chameli featuring Katrina Kaif. Music composers Ajay-Atul said, “Director Karan Malhotra had detailed the screenplay for the song much before it was recorded!”

Auntyji Auntyji (Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu)
This Amit Trivedi song has rock-n-roll charm. And Ash King’s vocals did the trick in giving the dance number the required swing.

Pungi (Agent Vinod)
This dance number captures Saif Ali Khan’s mad streak. Composer Pritam and singer Mika made sure it became part of every party’s playlist. Mika said, “Saif was so happy that during the promotions in Chandigarh, he danced on stage while I sang.”

Chinta Ta Chita (Rowdy Rathore)
Composers Sajid-Wajid came up with this track that epitomised rowdiness. Prabhudheva’s moves and Mika’s vocals completed it.

Paani Da Rang (Vicky Donor)
This is easily the most popular song of the year. Sung by the lead actor Ayushmann, this ballad became such a rage that it beat all other item songs. It even topped charts for its digital downloads and radio airplay requests!
