His career graph has grown by leaps and bounds ever since he became part of Bigg Boss, season eight. “Before Bigg Boss I used to sing in five shows, now I get offer to sing in 15 shows,” says singer-actor, Ali Quli Mirza. He also enjoys a strong dedicated fan following in North India owing to his music. And that’s one of the reasons he doesn’t miss any chance to perform in Delhi.

On his recent trip to the Capital, for a performance, he says, “I like to perform in Delhi because people here like my music. Delhiites know how to enjoy a show. And when people like music, I respect them.”

“Last year I performed at Kirori Mal College and loved the energy of the crowd there. This year, too, I have been invited by three colleges in Delhi to perform at their fests and I’m looking forward to them,” says Mirza, refusing to name the colleges till the deals finalise.

I’m a Mughal and can’t miss the Mughlai food that Delhi offers. Nihari, mutton biryani and even chhole kulche, I love it all -Ali Quli Mirza

A foodie at heart, whenever in Delhi, Mirza doesn’t mind cheating on his diet. “I’m a Mughal and can’t miss the Mughlai food that Delhi offers. Nihari, mutton biryani and even chhole kulche, I love it all,” he says.

Coming back to Bigg Boss 8 (2014), though it has been over two years now, he’s still basking in the fame. “It is because of Bigg Boss that people stop me on the Oxford Street in London to take pictures with me, even now!”

Why did he not take up any other reality shows? “I’m primarily a singer and want people to know me as one. If my audiences see me on too many reality shows, then they might think that I’m just a reality show actor. I don’t want to confuse my audiences,” he says.
