Bollywood’s newest actor Taaha Shah, who will make his debut with Yashraj’s Luv Ka The End opposite Shakti Kapoor’s daughter Shraddha, admits he was ‘scared to death’ at the idea of having to cross dress and slip into a ghagara-choli for an item number.
“More than wearing it, I was perplexed about how I was going to dance in it,” says the actor, who has come to Mumbai from Dubai and has bagged himself a three-film deal with the banner for now. “I didn’t have a choice at first. But as I started rehearsing, it became a lot of fun. I’m in competition with Munni and Sheila now and with choreographer Adil Shaikh’s help, I hope to beat them too,” he adds, laughing.
According to him, he became comfortable with his costume during the look tests and hence found himself pouting at the camera with much ease.
“I initially used to walk to the shooting location in a bathrobe, but after a while, I just began hanging around in the ghagara. Since the shoot was in a hotel, there were times when I would get into the elevator with a regular family. I would pout and occasionally bite my lips in their presence; it was fun,” he says.
The track that Taaha will be dancing to ‘The mutton song…’ came up as a joke. Music director Ram Sampath suggested that the song be treated in a rowdy mood. The video according to Taaha is mental and sexy.
