Michael Jackson’s older brother Jermaine will be in India to work in collaboration with singer-composer Adnan Sami on an album being produced by T-Series. It’s learnt that he will be arriving in the city in the early hours on October 2 and stay on for 10 days.
During the duration of his stay, he’ll be shooting a concept video for the song that he will be recording along with Sami.
The music company is also planning an activity with the international singer. “Jermaine will address the Indian fans of Michael Jackson at the event,” says our source, adding that the date will be announced in another couple of days.
Jackson’s visit, which is being strictly kept under wraps for security reasons, is said to be have been in talks for over three months. According to our source, “There were various aspects that had to be considered. We could have recorded the song and shot the video abroad, but Jermaine was very keen to do it in India.”
Bhushan Kumar, head honcho of T-Series, who is also playing host to Jermaine Jackson in India, confirmed the news, “Jermaine and Adnan wanted to collaborate on a song for a long time. So we’re glad it’s finally happening.”
He adds, “It was Jermaine’s idea to record and shoot the song in India because he’s excited about visiting our country. He’s also aware of Michael Jackson’s immense popularity here. He knows that Michael had come to Mumbai for a show, so he also wants to connect with his brother’s fans here. He also sees his trip to India as an emotional journey.”
Kumar declined to reveal any details about the track on which Jermaine is collaborating with Sami, saying it’s too early to talk about now.
Our source maintains that the song is being kept a secret because the concerned parties don’t want anything leaked out till Jermaine records the song, “Because the final track is still being worked upon,” he says.
It is believed that Jermaine will also pay a visit to Agra to see the Taj Mahal.
