Highlight Story

Singer-composer AR Rahman, who won two Oscars and a Golden Globe in 2009 for the song Jai Ho from Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, has bagged yet another Golden Globe nomination, this time for the film 127 Hours, also directed by Boyle.

The music maestro, who is currently touring Europe, told HT City, “Working with Danny is always a joy; it is even more joyous to get a nomination. Unbelievable!”

Rahman, 44, is competing in the same section as the last time — Original Score for a motion picture category — with the likes of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (The Social Network) and Hans Zimmer (Inception). The soundtrack of 127 Hours includes the song If I Rise, a collaboration between Rahman and pop star Dido.
