Michael Jackson’s elder brother, Jermaine Jackson, landed in Mumbai on Friday afternoon accompanied by his wife, Halima Rashid. And there was a slew of familiar faces to greet him. Bhushan Kumar of T-Series with wife, director of Jermaine’s music video, Divya Khosla Kumar, as well as singer Adnan Sami along with his son, received Jermaine at the airport, where they welcomed him with garlands and a bouquet of flowers.
As soon as he landed on Indian soil, his first words were, “Namaste India”. One of the people present there says Jermaine also expressed a keen desire to meet actress Sonali Bendre, who had welcomed Michael Jackson to India thirteen years ago. The video that Jermaine is here to shoot is a tribute to Mumbai, with one of its songs being titled, Let’s Go To Mumbai City. Divya Khosla, who is directing the video, is also responsible for the concept. The video will be shot at locations including Haji Ali, Gateway of India, Marine Drive and in the Mumbai’s slums.
The shoot will be spread over four days and will involve Jermaine shaking a leg with Adnan Sami. Bhushan Kumar also plans to take Jermaine to the places MJ had visited during his Mumbai stay. Says Kumar, “Jermaine and his wife came across as really warm people. We are very happy to collaborate with him.”
