Ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali Khan is set to debut in screen debut with a romantic comedy titled 498A — The Wedding Gift. Confirming the news, the 69-year-old Pakistani singer said, “In the last five decades of my career, I have been behind the camera umpteen number of times. Still, being part of a movie gave me goose bumps. I play myself in the movie and agreed to do it only on the condition that they would not make me walk or do anything else.” He adds, “It is a patriotic song and my favourite lines are, Apni mitti ki saundhi khushboo hai, ragon mein yeh basi hai, chumenge ise shaan se, humko toh pyra hai watan pani jaan se… ”

Debutant director Suhaib Ilyasi said, “We had to convince him a lot to do this shoot for us, but once he heard the song, he immediately agreed. The song has come out very beautifully.”
