The fan bases of EDM artistes and jazz performers may not always overlap but this gig may just help in bridging the gap. Tonight, as UK DJ Stuart Ojelay spins an array of house tracks, his music will be layered with a velvety dose of saxophone by Aimee Jay. Chris Budd will add another dimension with live percussions on the songs.

“As instrumentalists, we enhance what Stuart plays. I have performed with him before and like at other gigs, we are expecting a lot of hands in the air and people dancing to our music,” says Jay.

Ojelay, who is performing with the artistes as part of an event called Heineken HedKandi Hours, says, “We hope to bring a small chunk of Ibiza to India, where our performance was more than just a DJ set. Also, I know from previous experiences that the way people welcome us in India sets it apart from any other country in the world. Also the feeling that we are giving the crowd something new always creates a fantastic atmosphere.”

It’s not just music on Stuart’s mind. “Being a lover of Indian food in the UK, it is exciting to experience the real deal! The opportunity to soak up the culture, religion and architecture in India is always one that never fails to take your breath away.”
