American singer Taylor Swift feels her new album, Red, perfectly captures the highs and lows of her turbulent love life over the past two years. The 22-year-old singer said that she went through a few roller coaster rides while she wrote lyrics for her latest album. “Trying to chronicle each step of the way was challenging, because you go to some really dark places with the lyrics,” Daily Mail quoted her as telling Rolling Stone magazine. “In the next track, you’re talking about how amazing it is to meet somebody new,” she said. Swift collaborated with veteran producers such as Max Martin and Dan Wilson, and learnt much during the process. “I felt like an apprentice. They taught me so much about melodic sense, and let me do what I love, which is the lyrics,” she said.
While she wrote the songs with other people, the Love Story hitmaker still penned all the lyrics. “I know general things about love. How to treat people, what you deserve and when to walk away. Other than that, love is still a mystery — and that’s why I like to write about it,” she said.
