Calling up the radio station and then waiting for hours for your song request to be played is passé. A recently-introduced song request module by a city-based radio station allows music afficionados to play what they like simply by sending an SMS.

iPlayFever, launched by Fever 104 FM, empowers listeners to play their favourite numbers by sending a text message and scheduling the song. The station will then alert them about the exact time it will be played.

Fever 104 FM radio jockey Paran says, “It’s very new-age and today. Basically, it’s more personalised now and the connect with the listeners is great.”

Music lovers are excited about this new song request module. “It sounds pretty cool,” says IT consultant Akshay Dua. Rahul Das, a Delhi University student says, “Once, I’d to try calling for three hours to get my request played on a particular radio station. It was my friend’s birthday. By the time I got through the busy line, the show was over. Thank God, now I won’t have to do the waiting business.”

What you need to do: Type <Fever (space) Song Name> (for example: Fever Desi girl) on your mobile phone and send the SMS to 9212104104
Cost: Normal SMS rate as per your monthly plan
