Teen singing sensation Selena Gomez is heaving a sigh of relief after having successfully hosted the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday night. The 19-year-old, who stepped into the shoes of celebs such as Katy Perry, Eva Longoria and Justin Timberlake, as the host of the big night in Belfast, was very nervous before the evening started.
“Katy Perry sent me a tweet the other day to wish me good luck! I was definitely nervous but I was also really excited and looking forward to having fun,” Gomez told us. She was also happy with the huge number of female nominees this year. “There was incredible girl power among this years’ nominees like Lady Gaga, Adele and Katy Perry,” said the singer, who was elated to watch “Coldplay perform live” for the first time. The event will air here today on Vh1 India.

Fan of Indian music
“Indian music is very soothing to the ears and I would like to collaborate with Indian artists,” said the singer, adding, “I have a lot of fan following in India. They love me and have asked me to perform there. If I get a chance, I would definitely love to work in an Indian movie as it would be the best opportunity to connect with Indian fans.”
