director wanted a a good Punjabi number to suit the theme of her film, which is all about a punjabi wedding and stars Shabana Azmi, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Goldy Notay in lead.

Chadha and Shabana were desperately looking out for a punjabi number, since the film is based on a Punjabi family. They finally approached Dadlani.

The composer, known for his music in Bollywood hits like

Jhankaar Beats, Om Shanti Om, Salaam Namaste, Bachna Ae Haseeno



, was more than happy to do the song. He went a step further and did the song free of cost for the director.

Shabana plays a serial-killer in the movie, who is desperate to get her plump daughter married. She tries various methods to trap prospective suitors but when they reject her daughter she takes her revenge by killing them.
