Singer Tulsi Kumar says that not only has her career taken off after marriage in February this year, but her in-laws and husband Hitesh Ralhan love the work that she does too. “I am so lucky to get such a supportive family. My in-laws love my song, Tum Jo Aaye. In fact, my mom-in-law keeps humming it all the time.
My husband loves Saiyaan Superstar. He thinks that I am singing it for him,” says Tulsi, adding, “My career has not taken a backseat after marriage at all. In fact, it is moving with greater speed. Of course, responsibilities have increased, as now I am a wife, daughter-in-law and a sister-in-law as well.”
The singer will also be receiving the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award in Delhi in the category — Melodic Voice of the Year, and is ecstatic. “I am honoured to get this award. I’m so lucky that I am getting this recognition after being in the industry for just seven-eight years. This is such a big thing for me and means so much,” she says.
The 29-year-old crooner says that awards have always encouraged her to do better work. “While my fans have always supported my work and this has really helped me to better my talent, an award is a mark of recognition by the industry. I feel that these uplift an artist. It’s a great feeling of achievement, and very encouraging,” she says.
