Gangtok based rock band, Girish' n the Chronicles, is the only Indian band to be selected to compete in the Suncane Skale - a music festival held every summer in Herceg Novi, Montenegro. Girish' n the Chronicles are set to conquer the world with a song.

Straight from the lap of Himalayas, a group of five young men armed with musical instruments have set out to make their mark in the world of rock music.

This time around the three-day festival begins on the July 7 and the band was selected to perform on the final day which is the July 9 in the "Best Summer Song" category - an international segment of the festival.

Girish bandThe band found the opportunity when a nation-wide talent hunt was organised by the Consulate of Montenegro in association with the Eastern Zonal Committee in Guwahati. They won the talent hunt with their song 'Angel', an original composition of the band, which is quite a favourite on Youtube.

For "Song of the Summer" the band was asked to prepare a different original song and in three days time, the band came up with 'Angel's Angel.' The song was selected and so the band will perform this Song at Montenegro tomorrow.

For now, we can only keep our fingers crossed and hope that Girish' n the Chronicles make our country proud.
