Hip-hop artiste Hard Kaur to release album after five years; features collaboration with Mika Singh.music Updated: Oct 13, 2012 18:11 IST
With many hit dance Bollywood tracks under her belt, singer-rapper Hard Kaur has carved a niche for herself with her unique vocals. She will release her new album, title Play, next week.
Talking about the compilation, Hard Kaur says, “I’m sure that it will live up to its name. It’s a happy album and is all about celebration. All the tracks are zindadil party tracks, with a lot of Punjabi tadka.” The album also features her collaboration with singers Mika Singh and Lehmber Hussainpuri on numbers such as ‘Mujhey peene do’, ‘Boyfriend’, ‘Hello baby’. On ‘Desi dance’, she has teamed up with rapper with Eminem’s Band D12.
Play, which is out on Sony Music, also has a unique Mumbai-inspired flavour to it too. “I love the slang that people use in Mumbai. In the album, we’ve combined the city’s street language with hip-hop,” says Kaur, who is also looking forward to her upcoming Bollywood projects. “I’ve done a song with Pritam in the film Rush and there’s a rock track I recorded with Jigar-Sachin for the movie AnyBody Can Dance,” says Kaur. After Patiala House (2011), does she have any plans to act in the future? “Main heroine to hoon nahi aur na hi banne waali hoon (I am not an actor, and I don’t plan to become one). I respect all actors because after doing Patiala House, I realised that acting is a tough job.. But if I get any comedy roles, I might give it a shot,” says Kaur.
Play will be released on October 23.
