Highlight Story

The USP of Pravin Collective, a four member band, is how they mix organic and earthy sounds. They also experiment with different kinds of musical instruments.

What sort of music can we expect from you?
One can expect zone music from us. We can play diverse music forms such as retro, classic, rock ‘n’ roll, reggae, blues, folk, and instrumental (saxophone and violin). Music is in our souls.

How did the band come together?
All of us are friends. We came together, as all of us had a deep interest in music and we wanted to do something creative together. Our love for music brought us together.

Why this name?
The band’s name is Pravin Collective, as Pravin Singh is instrumental in bringing us together to form a band.

What do you think people remember most about your gigs?
I guess our style of playing acoustic is something people remember and love the most.

What do you think of the music scene in Delhi? Has it changed over the years?
The music scene in Delhi has been growing over the last five years. Earlier, people were only interested in commercial DJing, but in the last couple of years, there has been an awareness of band acts, which has given rise to the band culture in the city.

Which is the most inspiring song for the band?
‘Wish You Were Here’ by Pink Floyd is the most inspiring song for us.

Do you guys enjoy performing in Delhi?
We like to perform in Delhi because of the good crowd response. Live acts by bands need lot of participation, and the best part about this city is that people do participate in the acts. People in Delhi are enthusiastic, and their enthusiasm makes us strong.

What would you say is the best place in Delhi to make music?
Any place where the crowd has the feel for music and enjoy it from their hearts.

Would you say Delhi inspires artists?
It depends on the nature of events and the kind of people who feel strongly for music. Delhi does inspire artists because of its multi-cultural facet, its lifestyle, and its nightlife. As for us, when we see people following our music, it triggers us to come up with more innovative music solutions.

If you could play at any gig in the world, it would be...
Crossroads Guitar Festival

What has been the best moment for the band?
Playing in front of crowds who enjoy our shows. Also, when it’s time to pick our instruments before an act, that moment is really good.
