Priyanka Chopra didn’t steal Himmesh's pie

Music composer, singer and actor Himesh Reshammiya might be waiting since long to release his single from his debut international album, At The Edge, but it was actor-turned-singer Priyanka Chopra who bagged kudos for her debut single, In My City, despite announcing it much later. Reshammiya, however, doesn’t seem to mind.

“My song is having a wider release — in 122 countries. It’s also related to the fact that I have to travel for two months to promote it — which I didn’t get the time for. But I’ll definitely do it in the first half of 2013,” Reshammiya told us in an interview in Dubai.

Asked if he has any plans to collaborate with Priyanka, he said, “Her kind of music is a little different from what I’ve done in my album, which is more on the romantic side.”

Reshammiya was in the United Arab Emirates city for the grand finale of the Colors Indo-Pak musical reality show, Sur-Kshetra. “I’m happy that the whole idea of peace between two countries could be dealt with in a new way altogether,” he said, while also hinting at more seasons in the future. “The channel is considering a season two,” said Reshammiya, who is the mentor for the Indian team on the show. Asked why was Dubai chosen for the finale that will air on December 29, he said, “It’s a neutral ground. It was more comfortable here.”

The writer’s trip was sponsored by the channel Colors.
