From August 18, major international acts including Rihanna, Green Day and New Order will be lining up at the Summer Sonic festival in Japan. The following week on the other side of the world, The Cure, Foo Fighters, Kasabian and other major acts will be playing at the renowned Reading and Leeds festivals in the United Kingdom.

Major acts Rihanna, Green Day, and New Order take the stage alongside Calvin Harris, Sigur Ros, Franz Ferdinand, Tears for Fears, Crystal Castles, SUBTRKT, Garbage, The Cardigans, Ke$ha and Jamiroquai at this year's Summer Sonic fest.

Reading and Leeds Festivals
August 24-26
Reading and Leeds, England

The two festivals take place simultaneously and have the same lineup, with capacities of about 80,000 at the Reading site and about 70,000 in Leeds. Headliners include Foo Fighters, The Cure, Kasabian, Justice, and Florence + The Machine. Tickets start at £197.50 (€245).

Rock en Seine

Saint-Cloud, France

Rock en Seine is an annual three-day rockfest held at Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, just outside of Paris. Lineup features Foster the People, Green Day, Noah Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Black Keys, and Placebo. A three-day pass is priced at €109.

Bestival, an annual event since 2004, is dubbed a "boutique" festival for its alternative acts and notably non-corporate feel. Headlining this year at Robin Hill County Park are Stevie Wonder, New Order, The xx, Justice, Sigur Ros, Friendly Fires, Hot Chip, Frank Ocean, and Major Lazer. A four-day pass costs £180 (€225).
