Various singers from Lata Mangeshkar to AR Rahman have sung the national song of India, Vande Mataram, over the years. Now the cult song will take a new form in the bilingual international film Gandhi To Hitler (‘Dear Friend Hitler’ in International version).

Catering to the craze for rock music amongst the Indian youth, the film will feature a foot-tapping rock version of the song, which has been written by the associate producer, Pallavi Mishra, who is also the CEO of Amrapali Media Vision. “In today’s times when our national language (Hindi) is losing its grip among the youngsters, I could not refrain myself from translating the legendary composition in my mother tongue,” says Mishra, adding, “Moreover to make it a rage among Gen X, rock music was the best choice.”

hitlerBensen Baby, Aman P and Vasundhara have sung the track and the music has been scored by Aman and Bensen. The music of the film is set in the backdrop of the Second World War. The film is set to release on July 29.
