Singer Adnan Sami recorded ‘live’ on January 21 at Yashraj Studio from 6 pm IST. And he’s open to suggestions, so you could tell him how to croon a line or tweak the tune.

“A lot of people around the world have been asking me about how I create a song, the atmosphere in the recording studio and the works. I thought this would be a great way to bring them into the creative process. So I collaborated with Facebook and YouTube on a first-of-its-kind initiative in India,” explains the singer, composer and lyricist. Over 60,000 people across the world signed up on Facebook (

) and in the first three days to be part of this path-breaking ‘interactive’ music session that streamed live online on Friday.

“I was on the microphone with a laptop next to me. And reacted to all the ‘chats’ through my singing. I didn’t want my audience to be silent spectators because eventually this song is for them,” he says. The audience was quite interactive and Sami had fun recording the song.

The singer is hoping to wrap up his album by the end of this month or early next month. He expects to have it on the shelves for sale by April-May. It will be brought out by Yashraj Music. The song that got recorded yesterday live is the title track,

Main tere paas hoon.

“No brownie points for guessing who the muse is,” laughs Sami, obviously referring to his wife, Roya Faryabi.
