Shakira is set to release the Spanish-language album Sale El Sol on November 2, reported Billboard.biz on August 17. The album will be the seventh for the Colombian pop star, who most recently topped charts with her World Cup theme song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).
Sale El Sol (The Sun Rises) reportedly includes collaborations with Puerto Rican rap duo Calle 13 and Miami rapper Pitbull. In a YouTube video posted in July by the 1Goal Campaign, Shakira discussed details of the album, revealing that it would have a strong rock side along with romantic and Latino songs. The singer performed the album's title track in June during a concert at Rock in Rio Madrid.
Sale El Sol is the follow-up to 2009's She Wolf, Shakira's sixth studio album and third in English. The set peaked at No. 15 on the US Billboard chart, reached the top ten in more than a dozen other countries, and has gone platinum in Spain, Mexico, and Colombia.
On September 15, Shakira begins a 21-date tour of North America, followed by dates in Europe through December 20. The major international tour is also expected to include shows in Latin America and Asia.
