A zany music video featuring Singaporean actor Chen Tianwen comparing himself and his lady love to a coffee table and a sofa has become a global sensation on YouTube, racking up nearly two million views.

The video “Unbelievable” was created by Wang Guoshen, who also wrote the song’s goofy lyrics, as a tie-in to the hit Singaporean sitcom “Spouse For House”.

The video will surely remind Bollywood fans of song sequences from films of the 1970s, featuring Chen wearing white pants, a shirt with huge lapels, outsized sunglasses and a wig that looks like it could come off every time he shakes his head in time with the music.

Chen intentionally messes up the lip syncing as he spouts 'Unbelievable' lyrics such as “Come be my coffee table and I’ll be your sofa” and “Please be the metal cable to my cable car”.

Wang said in an interview that “Unbelievable” was shot in just three hours – not bad for such a masterpiece – and that the song was about a character in “Spouse For House” who keeps saying “unnnnnnbelievable”.
