In a one of its kind tribute to Lord Ganesha, 19 singers from across genres have come together to record a song for Ganesh Chaturthi. To be recorded in Hindi and Marathi, the song will be released as a single at Lalbaugcha Raja on September 1. Titled, Deva Ho Deva…, the song will be directed by Teenu Arora. Says Prashant Shirshat of 3rd rock Entertainment, which is coordinating the recording process, “The idea came up in a casual conversation with Teenu and Swaroop Anand. We felt it would be something different and our way of saying thanks to Lord Ganesha for all his blessings.”

The track will be made into two versions. The shorter one, lasting 3.5 minutes, will be for radio play, while the longer one will be distributed at Ganpati pandals across the city. Says Prashant, “We don’t want to make any money out of the song. Whatever we have spent on the production is out of devotion.” The producers also plan to make a full length album on the God, to be released in October. Says Prashant, “The proceeds from the sale of the album will go to charity. I am currently in talks with Kapil Dev’s NGO Khushi for distribution of funds.”
