Singer couple Bhupinder and Mitali Singh are celebrating their 25-year long association with a concert in the city, after a gap of a year. The concert, ‘Do Diwane Shahar Main’, named after one of their popular compositions, will take place at the Tejpal Auditorium, Grant Road, tomorrow.
Talking about the act, Bhupinder tells us, “We love meeting our audience in Mumbai, but we hardly get to perform here. So both of us are really looking forward to this show.” When asked about the songs they will present, he says, “We will start the concert with our song ‘Raahon pe nazar rakhna’ and then decide the course of the evening, depending upon the farmaish (request) by the audience.”
The couple is famous for sharing a great on-stage chemistry, adding life to their beautiful compositions.
Their concerts are also very interactive, where they ask the audience for requests and invite people to sing with them. “We love people singing with us and I believe that the most important aspect of a live performance is the interaction between the artistes and the audience. This is why we try our best to sing as many requests as we can. I am amazed by the number of requests we get each time,” says Bhupinder.
Bhupinder and Mitali launched their new album recently. Titled Shedin Buzone, the album is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s works. “This album is our homage to the legend. We are also working on three other albums,” says Mitali.
