Seldom do 15 top-of-the-line rock acts lead to on-stage blitzkrieg in the Capital. But that’s precisely what happened at The South Asian Bands Festival organised by Seher, Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Ministry of External Affairs in association with HT City that concluded over the weekend. Harmonic riffs exuded rhythm divine as South Asian rockstars collided in style.
Purana Qila, Mathura Road
Devout music enthusiasts queued up at the awe-inspiring venue to bathe in sounds of peace and harmony. The line-up on all three days was exceptional, what with budding artists and rock icons presenting sets bejewelled with their biggest hits. Giving Pakistan’s Strings, Afgha-nistan’s Kabul Dreams, Sri Lanka’s Paranoid Earthling, Bhutan’s Who’s Your Daddy, Nepal’s 1974 AD, Myanmar’s Emperor, Maldives’ Fa’Thu & the Early Birds and Bangla-desh’s Nagarbaul & James company were their Indian counterparts The Raghu Dixit Project, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Avial, Afflatus, Faridkot, and Half Step Down.
