Singer Sunidhi Chauhan is on a high. After crooning more than 2000 songs, the 27-year-old has now teamed up with international pop sensation Enrique Iglesias for a duet, for the latter’s first ever-Indian collaboration.
“Enrique is a huge artist. He’s got a distinct voice quality that connects with people. I had a lot of fun working on this project and our duet has turned out really great,” says Chauhan, who is a self-confessed fan of the singer’s hit number Hero."We’ve already recorded the song and also done the video. It’s got a little bit of folk, Hindi lyrics and English," she adds. The duet will feature on the ‘Special India Edition’ of Iglesias’ latest album Euphoria, which will also include a new club hit titled Tonight [I'm Lovin’ You] Feat. Ludacris. Partly shot in India and the US, the song is an Indian version of the number Heartbeat, that has already been shot on Nicole Scherzinger and Iglesias. Prod her on her experience of meeting Iglesias, Sunidhi says: "We met only briefly. We could not do most of the part together because of his busy schedule but that doesn’t matter."
The collaboration has been produced by music composer Shameer Tandon and will be hitting the stores later this month. Chauhan, whose voice features in “almost all the forthcoming films”, is also contemplating cutting an album “by the end of this year”.
