Who are they?
Nasha, a sufi rock band that plays soulful music in a modern contemporary rock version.

Why should you care?
The band is known for their connectivity with the audience, as they perform on stage and involve the crowd rather than just stand and sing.

How long have they been around?
The band was formed in November 2009.

Why this name?
The name Nasha came impromptu, as it was the self-composed song called Nasha which brought them the popularity. Based on this song, they got their first show in 2009 in Patiala along with Mohit Chauhan. When asked by the organisers to name the band on the stage, one of the members randomly said ‘Nasha’ and from then onwards, this has been the name.

What makes them click?
Their popular self compositions, the way they perform, their on-stage acts and their connectivity with the audience.

What is the one thing they hate about upcoming city-based bands?
They don’t really hate anything about other bands, but one thing that annoys them is when some bands out of mere jealousy talks behind their back.

Why do they love to perform in Delhi?
They just love to perform in Delhi, as it is their own city. Since the city is now opening up to the concept of live bands of different genres, new rock cafes have also started to come up. Also, the band finds the audience in the city very supportive.

What are they remembered for?
For their songs such as Nasha, Papa and O Mahi.
