We all heard Pakistani actor Veena Malik getting into verbal duels with her fellow contestants in the reality show Bigg Boss. But now it looks like we will hear a lot more of her.

Veena has become a singer and is all set to release her first single, titled Drama Queen.

Veena claims that she’s wanted to be a singer since childhood and looks at this opportunity as the start of her singing career. “I believe in letting my work talk for myself. We recorded the song in August last year and since then have been putting things together and shooting the video,” she says. She adds, “Singing will not just be another hobby, but a career. Yet I will continue to do films and TV shows depending on the offers.”

Veena admits the title Drama Queen suits her to a T. She laughs. “People do call me that, and to some extent I am. I feel every girl is a drama queen. The lyrics of the song represent every girl out there.”

The song will release on ArtistAloud.com. The album includes collaborations with British Asian music producer Bups Saggu, along with other producers. After this single, Veena will be working on four more tracks.

Apart from this, Veena has also been working on the Malayalam remake of The Dirty Picture (2011).

She says, “I am looking forward to the film. It was tough for me as I am not a foodie and I had to gain a lot of weight for the film.”

In other news, a reality show called Swayamvar, featuring Veena was about to air earlier this year. But since the channel shut

down, all plans have fallen through. But Veena hasn’t given up hope. She says, “I would love to do Swayamvar on another channel if it happens. I have left everything in God’s hands.”
