Yo Yo Honey Singh is back with a bang after a long absence.

In the city to promote his upcoming movie “Zorawar”, the rapper also talked about his absence, working in Bollywood and in Punjabi film industry, his love for music and much more.

When asked how the period of 18 months changed him when he was disconnected from the world, he said there was no change in him but the phase was scary and his love for music was something that was always there with him that kept him strong.

“I am going to release a couple of songs which I wrote during my darkest period of life. It was a sad phase in my life. When I was not able to do anything else, music was something that kept me going. I recorded songs on my phone and will be released soon,” he said.

Says no to acting

The rapper said he would not be acting in movies and his priority would be music. “Acting is a tough job to me. Playing someone else is not my cup of tea and I do not have any future plans to act in any film but I just want to make music... music is my love and I just want to dedicate myself to it,” he said.

When asked, why all the Punjabi singers such as Amrinder Gill, Gippy Grewal and Diljit Dosanjh and now him were entering in films, Honey said in a lighter note: “Agar roti naal sweet dish khan nu mil jave, te kaun mana krega (If someone is getting sweet dish after a meal, who would refuse it).”

“But I do not see myself as an actor, I am happy composing music,” he added.

Sharing his views on Punjabi film industry and Bollywood, he said that the Punjabi industry people are more loving.

Punjabis are generally known for love and care and in Bollywood also, the industry is full of Punjabis.

“I have worked here and in Bollywood, and I have noticed that Punjabis are always loving, I find so much love here in Punjabi film industry and moreover, Bollywood is ruled by Punjabis,” he said.

On his role in Zorawar

“Though I am not now focusing on acting, I signed Zorawar because it is a kind of movie that I wanted to do. It’s based on family relations, and I had also lost weight for the role that I am portraying in the movie of special agent,” he said. “But now I have gained 7-8kg for my upcoming music album,” he said.
