Raftar Singh and Yo Yo Honey Singh.

A couple of months ago, we told you about a rift between rappers Yo Yo Honey Singh and Raftaar Singh over the credits of some songs in the film Fugly (2014). And now, Raftaar’s recent song, Swag Mera Desi, is adding fuel to the fire.

Music fans on the popular video sharing platform, YouTube, have said that the lyrics of the song are aimed at ridiculing Honey Singh.

Raftaar, however, denies that the entire song is a dig at Yo Yo, but admits that the lines, “Karo mat copy jao khud ka likho, kuch toh karo aisa jisse lage competition hai” and the final punch line, “Ab yeh karke dikhao” are indeed targeted at him.

“Yes, these lines are about Honey Singh. It’s about the lies that he keeps telling in public. Someone else writes songs for him and he takes credit for all that. No, I don’t have any personal grudges against him. But, he is not the true hip-hop artist that he claims to be and that’s why I challenge him,” he says.

However, Honey Singh seems unperturbed at being called a ‘copy cat’. “I have no comment to make on this. I don’t really care about what anyone has to say. I am the one who is discussing projects with the biggest stars in Bollywood, and that’s all that matters.”
