DALTONGANJ: Satbarwa in Jharkhand’s Palamu district remained tense on Wednesday after Hindu and Muslim groups clashed over the transportation of cattle. Hindu activists intercepted cattle being transported on NH-75 and set them free. The activists alleged that these were being taken to slaughterhouses. The situation took an ugly turn when activists allegedly owing allegiance to Bajrang Dal rushed to spot and started beating up the cattle herders. In another twist, a group of around 50 Muslim youths stole the ‘freed’ animals from the Hindu group. The Hindu villagers then blocked traffic on NH-75. The blockade was lifted after the police assured action.
