Woman names child after Mathura cult chief
AGRA: Ram Vriksha Yadav, killed during the Mathura violence, has now taken birth at a hospital in Etah district jail!
Surprising? This is the name (Ram Vriksh) that a woman gave to her newly-born baby boy. She is Dharamwati from Bareilly, one of the members of the cult group that occupied the Jawahar Bagh till recently and was brought to Etah jail from Mathura.
Dharamwati was arrested on night of June 2 along with other members of group and booked under section 151 of Criminal Procedure Code(for causing disturbance to peace). She, along with 96 women, was shifted from Mathura jail to Etah and was pregnant. She already has three children. These women were shifted along with 73 children.
The gesture to name her child Ram Vriksh comes as mark of her sentiment to keep alive the memory of the cult leader for whom they reached Jawahar Bagh in Mathura from Bareilly “when told by those visiting the village that a fair is to be organized with facility of free stay at a location in Mathura,” she revealed.
She is from Kareena village in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and gave birth to baby boy on Friday. Her husband Sitaram (39) is also in Mathura jail.
The woman pleads ignorance about what all happened in Jawahar Bagh and claims that they were not members of group occupying Jawahar Bagh.
“I had nothing to do with violence that occurred nor I ever met Ram Vriksha Yadav but to keep alive the memory of my stay, I intend to name him after cult leader,” she said.
Some have been calling the boy as ‘Jailee’ having been born in jail,” said a staff from the hospital.
Dharamwati is not clear as to why she had been arrested and said many others had reached Jawahar Bagh in recent days after being called on one pretext or the other.
