A 26-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped by three people at southwest Delhi’s Dwarka sector 16.
Police said the victim stays in the area with her husband and one of the accused in the case. The accused, later identified as Mukram, has been arrested.
“On Monday night Mukram, with whom the couple had had an argument, approached her with two of his associates, Kashim and Nasim. She was alone in the house at the time,” said an officer.
Finding her alone, the trio, according to the police, molested her and, when she objected, sexually assaulted her one by one before fleeing.
The victim called the police and was taken to a nearby government hospital where a medical examination conducted on her confirmed sexual assault.
“Mukram was arrested while his two associates are still absconding after the incident. We have launched a manhunt to nab them,” said the officer.
Meanwhile in another incident of rape, a three-year-old play school student was allegedly raped by her cab driver in west Delhi’s Khayala.
A senior police officer said a case of rape was immediately registered and relevant sections of the POCSO Act added to it.
The officer said the incident came to light two days ago.
“The parents of the minor girl got suspicious when she returned home after school with blood stains on her uniform. The girl was scared and finally told her parents that the cab driver sexually assaulted her after they repeatedly asked her. The victim’s parents then approached the police,” said the officer.
The officer said the minor girl was taken to Deen Dayal Updhyaya (DDU) Hospital and a case was lodged following her medical report.
The police said they have arrested the cab driver. However, the police did not divulge the name of the accused cab driver.
