BJP legislator and member of the New Delhi Municipal Council Karan Singh Tanwar on Monday, along with scores of supporters, held a token demonstration in front of Palika Kendra, the council headquarters near Jantar Mantar, against the alleged lax attitude of civic agency officials resulting in stoppage of all development work.

“Unruly scenes prevail everywhere and there is no body to address our grievances. The democratically-elected government representatives have adopted a dictatorial and inhuman attitude. There have been numerous irregularities and scams ranging from Commonwealth Games to redevelopment of Connaught Place, construction of malls, renewal of lease of Hotel Taj Man Singh or allotment of land to Hotel Leela,” Tanwar said, adding that corruption and bribery are at peak and therefore the so-called richest body of Asia is on the verge of bankruptcy.
