Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel and leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj were greeted by a bouquet of first-cut wheat by farmers at a Kisaan Mazdoor Akrosh Rally in Narela on Sunday.

Addressing the crowd, Swaraj said the BJP will fix the Delhi land acquisition rates at four times the market value. She promised that the party will extend the reach of Metro to Narela. During his speech, Vijay Goel said Sheila Dikshit has ignored rural Delhi and even after 14 years of ruling does not know the location of Narela, Kanjhawala and Najafgarh.

He said with elections round the corner, the chief minister was building roads that will only last two months. "The BJP will not only regularise the illegal colonies but will also make sure that land registration and loan facilities are provided in these areas," Goel said.

The BJP president's rural bonanza included long standing demands of the area like extension of Lal Dora, drinking water and road network.
