The wait for anxious Class 10 students is finally over. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare the results for the Class 10 board exams at 4pm on Thursday.

Students will be able to check their result either by logging online, or through the IVRS facility or SMS service.

“This year we have made special arrangements so students can easily access their results through means other than the conventional online result run by National Informatics Centre. Schools can also get the entire school’s result by going online and using their school code and email-id,” said MC Sharma, controller of exams, CBSE.

With a day to go for the results, several students may be jittery. Principals, therefore, are urging parents to extend as much support to children as possible.http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/Popup/2012/5/23_05_12-metro5.jpg

“This is not the end of the world, and there will be a lot of other exams where students can prove themselves. Parents must remain supportive so that the child can cope with the results,” said Ameeta Wattal, principal, Springdales School Pusa Road.

Despite the CBSE’s continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) system gathering momentum across several schools in the country, only 4.1 lakh students of a total 11 lakh appeared for the Class 10 board exam this year — a marginal drop from last year’s 4.45 lakh students.

While some students stayed away from the board exams, others who opted for it said they were abiding by tradition.

“Ever since Class 6 we were asked to study while keeping the Class 10 board exams in mind. I just wanted to see what the whole hullabaloo was about,” said a student at Bal Bharati School, Pusa Road.
