The CBI has submitted its final, reconciled list of missing files related to the coal allocation scam probe to the coal ministry, which includes the draft and amended draft minutes of 34th screening committee’s meeting on September 22, 2006, and documents on the merit of applicants during 2006-09.
The list names the missing files and was on Monday sent to the ministry, which has a 15-day deadline to hand them over, said a CBI source. “Or else, they have to file a report on the missing files with the CBI for appropriate inquiry.”
Among the missing files are the “scrutiny report regarding the financial strength of applicant companies” prepared by Coal India Limited (CIL), “as mentioned in the minutes of the 35th screening committee held on July 13, 2007, with regard to applicant JLD Yavatmal Energy Limited,” said the source.
CIL’s report on Green Infrastructure Limited and the “feedback form” submitted by Kamal Sponge Steel and Power Limited are missing.
