Two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly fired at Congress MP Krishna Tirath in the capital on Wednesday night, police said. She escaped unhurt.

Tirath, who represents the capital's Karol Bagh constituency, was in a car along with her husband near Jhandewalan Metro station in central Delhi when the two men opened fire at her car and then fled.

"We are taking details from the MP about the possible assailants and have dispatched various teams to arrest them," a senior police official said.
