Enough is enough! This is what seems to be on the minds of Delhiites and with New Year around the corner, they have decided to celebrate it by taking it to the streets.
Kicking away fancy celebrations, Delhiites have decided to usher New Year by organising a party to "reclaim the streets."
"Let us all shout out loud 'It's enough!' Come dented and painted!" says the Facebook invite of the event.
The party has been organised on behalf of Citizen's Collective against sexual assault to "mark solidarity with women's rights and safety" and promote safety on streets.
The event will be held from 10.30pm to 1am on Monday at PVR Anupam, the movie theatre, in the Saket area of the capital.
Another similar event named 'Walk for Reclaiming the Nights for Women' is being organised by Jawaharlal Nehru University students' union (JNUSU) and Gender Sensitisation Committee Against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH) to celebrate women's freedom. The event aims to promote justice in 1 lakh pending rape cases across the country in 100 days, massive expansion of safe public transport for women and other issues.
