The Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering) is all set to start its admission process for BTech, MTech and PhD programmes from April 8 onwards.

According to the schedule, this year’s admission process to undergraduate courses will be on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) scores and would be carried out online through the university’s dedicated portal www.dtuadmissions.nic.in, which is also used for student  counselling.

Students will be admitted to the MTech programmes on the basis of their GATE scores - that will be given 80 per cent weightage - and interviews.

The university offers 15 undergraduate and 17 postgraduate courses. This year, the number of PhD fellowships has also been increased from 50 to 100. The online system will help candidates to register for admission and submit their choices of preferred branches online.

The candidates would also be able to obtain and keep a track of their admission status from anywhere using the internet. As per norms, only those candidates who have been declared eligible for central counselling and have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be considered for admission only.

Since DTU is a state university, 85% of the total number of seats would be reserved for candidates from Delhi. The university has also decided to create one seat over and above the sanctioned intake strength in every undergraduate course  for admission of central and state board toppers.
