The temperatures, however, are set to rise from Wednesday onwards. “The sky will be clear on Wednesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 41 and 25 degrees Celsius,” said an official of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The Met department has forecast a sustained heat wave which will hit the city between May 16 and May 20. The temperatures are expected to touch up to 46 degrees Celsius on May 20.

The city had been experiencing hot weather conditions for continuously a week before thundershowers were seen over the last weekend.
