A 46-year-old man, who was formerly associated with the Shiv Sena, was allegedly attacked by four people, including a woman, at west Delhi's Rajouri Garden over the issue of parking his vehicle on Saturday evening, police said.

The victim has been identified as Dhruva Pathak, who used to be a Shiv Sena member and is a resident of Vishnu Garden area near Rajouri Garden. The altercation allegedly happened as soon as he parked his car outside the office of one of his associates around 10.45 pm.

"According to Pathak, he was visiting someone at Rajouri Garden, not far away from his residence, when an autorickshaw driver objected to his parking his car at a spot outside an office," said an officer.

Pathak told the police that he initially thought it better to ignore the autorickshaw driver, later identified as one Mohan, and started walking towards his associate's office.  This, however, incensed Mohan who then began swearing at him even as he walked over and engaged him in a heated verbal argument.

"As the men argued, Mohan's wife, son Rinku and another person arrived on the spot and began assaulting him. They even damaged his vehicle," the officer said.
